Rodney Smith, CPA, CFE

Audit Partner

Specializing in auditing and consulting within the church and ministry sector, Rodney Smith brings over 30 years of accounting and auditing experience to his role as audit partner at PSK. He has considerable knowledge of quality management processes, including development and documentation of internal controls, as well as financial reporting for religious organizations and compliance matters for tax exempt organizations.

For churches and ministries alone, Rodney is review partner for approximately 80 assurance and consulting engagements per year.  He also develops curriculum for training in church tax and accounting matters, and speaks at various seminars and workshops each year. He enjoys working with growing churches that recognize the value of assurance services and are willing to do what it takes to protect their organizations.

Following an initial stint as a staff accountant for a Fort Worth, Texas CPA firm, Rodney served as the Chief Financial Officer for an entrepreneurial group, primarily focused in the printing industry, for sixteen years.  He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, where he initially studied engineering, but didn't like the coursework. After three hours skimming the business textbooks in the university bookstore, he finally decided on accounting—and the rest is history.
