Spring Golf Tournament
To commemorate the end of tax season and to thank loyal clients, great referral sources, and wonderful family and friends, PSK hosts an annual Spring Golf Tournament. Having nearly 125 participants each year, this tournament is an extremely successful event.

Wednesday, April 16, 2008, marked our 32nd annual tournament. Squaw Valley Golf Course in Glen Rose, Texas, was once again the site for this much anticipated tournament. Free golf, lunch, and even an entertaining bus ride to Glen Rose with snacks galore—what more could you want? See our event photo gallery here!

Fall Golf Tournament
Fall brings the annual PSK Church and Ministry Golf Tournament. A crowd of approximately 75 usually attends.  As PSK handles many church and ministry clients, this tournament is a great way to thank them for their loyalty and their business. Thursday, October 16, 2008, will mark the 12th annual tournament at Tangleridge Golf Course in Grand Prairie, TX. See our previous event's photo gallery here!

Women’s Initiative
The Women’s Initiative (“WI”) was formed in late 2006. Its mission is to enhance PSK’s presence in the community through strong leadership development and community service activities.

Goals include:

  • Providing a platform for women to develop strong leadership roles in the firm
  • Broadening PSK’s network in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area
  • Professional development of the firm staff
  • Sponsorship of events to promote team synergy

Several special events have been sponsored by this team.

  • A luncheon and round table discussion was held at Grant Thornton with several of their female partners and a large group of women from PSK.
  • A panel of five local female leaders from different industries lunched at PSK answering questions and sharing achievements and challenges.
  • The WI sponsored a weekend retreat that was such a hit that it may turn into an annual event.
  • A business etiquette expert was brought in to help everyone in the firm learn dining etiquette over a formal lunch. It was a lot of fun as well as very informative.
  • A team building event was held in Mansfield at the Bath Junkie.
  • Several special client outings have also taken place.
  • Fall 2008 there will be a wine tasting event.

Day of Service
With a strong belief that we should give back to the community, PSK started an annual day of service in 2007. On this day, the office closes (though everyone is paid) and the team works together on a project. Spouses and family are encouraged to join in the fun.

The first project was Habitat for Humanity in which the team built a house in Fort Worth. Some helped with framing, while others were in charge of painting panels. Watch for the PSK crew every year—we mean business when it comes to helping others.

Community Involvement:
PSK also supports the Susan G. Komen Lee Jean Day and The Alzheimer’s Memory Walk. During the holidays, they buy turkeys and side items for Mission Arlington.

Mission Arlington has been close to the heart of PSK for over 25 years.  There is not a holiday or event that PSK misses.  Whether it’s Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, or back to school time, PSK finds a way to give back to the community through Mission Arlington

At Thanksgiving, we deliver multiple turkeys with all the “fixings.” It has been a long tradition for the managing partner to take all new team members shopping for gifts for the Christmas donation. It is quite a sight to see them fill 15 to 20 large shopping carts with everything from basketballs and video games to hair brushes and coats. It takes several vans to deliver all the gifts.

Easter brings lots of kids to Mission Arlington, eager for egg hunting.  Last year 3,500 kids showed up.  PSK helped supply hundreds of plastic eggs and a lot of candy to go inside.  At Back-to-School time, we supply back packs and everything that goes in them.  When it comes to shopping for Mission Arlington, we are pros!

  • Christmas shopping trip for Mission Arlington
    - Nine team members + managing partner
    - Spend about $5,000
  • Firm buys turkeys and side items on Thanksgiving for Mission Arlington
  • Memory Walk
  • Volunteering Mansfield Hometown Festival
  • We support Susan G. Komen - Lee Jean Day

Casey at schoolOur staff like to involve themselves individually as well. PSK’s Casey Campbell dedicates his service by educating young students on the fundamentals of accounting, what professions accounting has to offer, and what types of classes to take to prepare for a future in accounting.
